Our Commitment
The New York Racing Association, Inc. and NYRABets are committed to promoting responsible gaming. We believe that wagering should be a form of entertainment, never a way to make money or escape from problems. We provide a range of tools and resources to help you keep your play under control.
Know the Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years of age to open a NYRABets account (21 in AL, ID, NE, ND, NM, IA, IN, KS, MI, OK and WA). It is illegal for anyone under the legal age to open an account or place a wager. We use identity verification to help ensure all account holders meet the legal age requirement.
Signs of a Gambling Problem
Gambling can become a problem for some people. Ask yourself:
- Do you bet more than you can afford to lose?
- Do you try to win back money you have lost ("chasing losses")?
- Has betting caused problems with family, friends, or work?
- Do you borrow money or sell things to fund your wagering?
- Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, help is available.
Tools to Stay in Control
- Deposit limits — set daily, weekly, or monthly limits on how much you can deposit.
- Time-outs — take a short break by suspending your account for a set period.
- Self-exclusion — exclude yourself from wagering for a longer, fixed period or permanently.
- Activity statements — review your deposits, wagers, and withdrawals at any time.
To set up any of these tools, contact a NYRABets customer service manager at 1-844-NYRA-BET (1-844-697-2238) and press 6.
Self-Exclusion
If you feel you need to stop wagering, you can request self-exclusion from your NYRABets account. During the self-exclusion period you will not be able to place wagers or deposit funds, and you will be removed from marketing communications. Self-exclusion requests are processed in accordance with applicable state regulations.
Protecting Minors
Please keep your account credentials confidential and ensure that minors cannot access your devices or account. If you share a device, consider using parental control or filtering software such as those offered by GamBlock, Net Nanny, or similar services.
